Intel Comet Lake-S CPUs are around the corner and the price of the i9-10900 has been listed on a Canadian retailer website. From what we see, the price is very competitive when compared to Coffee Lake CPUs.
According to PC Canada, the Intel i9-10900 Comet Lake-S CPU is going to cost $669.99 Canadian. This is very reasonable indeed keeping in mind that this is expected to be a 10-core, 20-thread CPU that can boost to around 5.14 GHz. This is a locked SKU so you are not going to need an expensive Z490 motherboard for this CPU.
The site also suggests that you get a discount when you buy in bulk quantities.
Everything is out of stock due to the COVID-19 situation but keeping in mind that the Intel i9-9900KF goes for around $700, the price of the 10900 is very competitive indeed. For the money, you do get 2 extra cores and 4 threads. So the price to core ratio and price to thread ratio makes in impressive value for money.
Do take the price with a grain of salt as none of this has been confirmed. It is possible that the CPU will be released at around the same price but then again it is also possible that this is a placeholder and people that have ordered the CPU will have the pay the difference if the CPU turns out to be more expensive.
