Benchmarks of the upcoming Intel i7 10700K have been spotted and it seems that the CPU will come with a boost clock higher than 5 GHz. The 8 core 16 thread CPU has a boost clock speed of 5.3 GHz out of the box. This is very impressive indeed keeping in mind that this is a K-series SKU with an unlocked multiplier. Meaning that you can overclock it to get even higher clock speeds.
The Intel i7 10700K has a base clock speed of 3.8 GHz which is not bad keeping in mind that this is an 8 core CPU. There is little that we know about this CPU in terms of performance. There is no information regarding the TDP or the manufacturing process. It is more than likely that Intel is using the 10nm process for these chips but at this point in time, nothing is certain.
While the clock speed is impressive, we still need to know about the performance upgrades as compared to the 9th generation chips. Intel has some impressive mobile CPUs but we are more interested in the desktop parts.
Pricing is also going to be an important factor when it comes to the success of the Intel i7 10700K Can Turbo Boost. Having a decent turbo speed is well and good but AMD has the upper hand when it comes to value and core count. Intel needs to price its products better as well if it wants to stay in the business in the long run.
The AMD Ryzen 3rd Gen CPUs are very impressive indeed and they are competitively priced. It will be interesting to see how the Intel i7 10700K performs compared to high-end AMD Ryzen CPUs.
Let us know what you think about the boost clock speed of the Intel i7 10700K and whether or not this is something that you might be interested in getting.
