Units in Age of Wonders 4 not only cost resources to train but also take a couple of turns. Once they are trained they also have upkeep. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get units for free? It would certainly save you some resources. In this Age of Wonders 4 guide, we go over how you can get units for free.
Age Of Wonders 4: How to Get Infinite Units
To get free units in Age of Wonders 4, you need two cities that are relatively close to each other and you want to take advantage of the Wild Expansion nature empire skill. This summons an animal unit that you can control once you have completed the annexation of a province.

In order for this to work you need to wait for your cities to have a large enough population. Or you could use the Rite of Expansive Growth nature rite which increases the population in your cities by 1. Now you need to trade provinces back and forth between your cities.
When the province that you traded is added to the city it is registered by the game as a new province and you get a free unit. The animals that you can get using this method include spiders and unicorns which you can merge together to create an army and take down enemies.
The most interesting thing is that you can use this method to get free units pretty early on in the game and you will not need to spend as much gold on units as you normally would. Progressing the nature skill tree will make these animals even stronger.
You can transfer the provinces back and forth over and over again in order to get additional units as many times as you like. This exploit might get patched in an upcoming update so be sure to take advantage of it while you can.
