You should also note that the HL is not explicitly displayed in the game. There are, however, a few things that you can use to easily check your Humanity.
How to Check Humanity
If you head over to the Hotel Krat, you will find Spring in there. She will let you pet her if you have high enough Humanity Points. If you do not have enough Humanity Points, on the other hand, she will hiss at you.
Alternatively, after defeating the Eldest Brother of the Black Brotherhood, enter the building to come across a painting. If you see the boy in the painting has a long nose, this means that you have increased Humanity.

One of the best methods of increasing Humanity Points in Lies of P is to align with the truth. If you constantly speak the truth, you will continue to increase your Humanity Points. If you want to deviate from Humanity, however, you will need to lie as much as possible. This can be helpful if there are some rewards that require you to lie.
One such example is lying while returning the baby to the Weeping Woman. Other than that, listening to music on the Gramophone in Hotel Krat can also lead to increasing Humanity Points. Lastly, you can perform various gestures for different NPCs to increase your Humanity — clapping for Venigni is a good example.
