There are not a whole lot of options that can compete with Enigma when it comes to mowing down waves of enemies in Remnant 2. For those of you who have played Destiny 2, it is as if Anarchy and Riskrunner had a lovechild. It is basically a Hand Gun that chains lightning to nearby enemies while applying Overloaded. It also comes with a Weapon Mod named Chaos Driver which drives some Electrical Rods into targets that tether to other ones within 10m. Since it is not a hitscan, you do not have to aim with it — just click to win. The only downside of Enigma is its single-target damage but you can make it work if you build around it. In this guide, we have detailed everything there is to know about unlocking Enigma in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 Unlock Enigma

To unlock Enigma, you will need to head over to Labyrinth. There is no way to reroll to this area as it is automatically accessed after defeating the very first Campaign Boss in the game — it can be anything depending on your start.

Once you are in Labyrinth, you will need to find an item known as Cipher Rod. This is basically a Crafting Material that you can use to create the weapon. To find it, you will need to head over to the Fractured Ingress.

After you get there, you should see a portal that seems to change destinations. You basically need to jump into this portal when it is displaying some white lines in an empty space. Once you enter it, you will land on some platforms with enemies on them.

After progressing a little, you will see the Cipher Rod sitting on a statue. You need to take this to McCabe in Ward 13. You will also need 7x Lumenite Crystals and 1,000x Scrap along with the Cipher Rod.

It is important to note that Enigma does benefit from AoE increase but not from Range Damage. This is something that you need to keep in mind when trying to build your character around it.
