Splatoon 3 doesn’t leave Splatoon 2 players out to dry! If you’re one of the people who spent a lot of time playing Splatoon and data you want to transfer to Splatoon 3, Nintendo has added a nifty little feature that allows you to do exactly that.

To transfer data from Splatoon 2 to Splatoon 3, you must play the game on the same Switch console. The console in your possession must have the saved data from Splatoon 2 or have the same account logged to download Cloud Saves.

Now boot up Splatoon 3 and reach the lobby, where you will be asked if you wish to transfer data. Select the carry-over option but keep in mind that if you press no, this message does not appear again.

For some odd reason, Nintendo has limited how many times you can transfer data. You can only transfer data once per account, so if you decline the option, it won’t appear again (as far as we can tell).

On the other hand, if you have a new Nintendo Switch, the only way to transfer data from Splatoon 2 is to use Cloud Saves. However, you’re out of luck if you don’t have data saved in the Cloud.

Rewards for Transferring Data

  1. 3x Gold Weapon Licenses
  2. Unlocked Ranked
  3. Get a Higher Rank at the Start
  4. Matchmaking Against Players Closer to Your Rank
