The Darkness may be at our doorstep, signaling the destruction of an entire species, but the celebrations must go on for the Guardian Games are here. So, equip the class item and let the games begin. In this guide, we’ve detailed all there’s to know about how to start Guardian Games in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 Guardian Games
To begin, head over to The Tower and speak with Commander Zavala to acquire one of the 3 class items – all three are the same. Remember that the class item needs to be equipped for the progress made during the Guardian Games to count. Keep it on throughout the event!
After equipping the class item, head over to Space Grandma (Eva Levante) and speak with her to acquire the Medal Case. It’s essentially a log to keep track of the progress made during the Guardian Games. As for the things that the Medal Case can keep track of, these include:
- Laurels
- Bronze Medals
- Silver Medals
- Gold Medals
- Platinum Medals
After acquiring the Medal Case, players will need to complete an objective that requires collecting 100 Laurels and defeating combatants. Once again, remember to have the class item equipped and defeat enemies with abilities. Once the objective is done, return to Space Grandma and pick up one of the Contender Cards – one of NFs, Strikes, Crucible, Gambit.

It’s through completing these Contender Cards and unlocking Triumphs that players earn Medals. These can then be deposited at the podium on The Tower to earn a variety of rewards and help the preferred class win the Guardian Games 2021.
