While not an absolute necessity, not speaking to animals can cause you to miss out on some potential secrets. But how do you learn to do that? This guide covers everything you need to know about speaking to animals in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Speaking to Animals in Baldur’s Gate 3
Before we begin, it is important to note that there are multiple ways through which you can communicate with animals. These include:
Speak with Animals
There are some classes in Baldur’s Gate 3 that have access to a spell aptly named Speak with Animals. An overview of these classes is provided below:
Druid | This class can also transform into animals with Wild Shape. |
Bard | While speaking with animals, this class can persuade animals to divulge valuable information. |
Warlock | With the help Beast Speech, you can converse with animals. |
Ranger | Another class that can use Speak to Animals is Ranger. |
Paladin | If you are playing this class, you will need the Oath of the Ancients. |
Forest Gnome
Forest Gnomes also have a connection with animals, thanks to their affinity with nature. Due to this, animals can prove to be valuable allies for Forest Gnomes.
Potions of Animal Speaking
If your race/class does not allow you to speak to animals, you should be able to purchase the Potion of Animal Speaking from any vendor in the game to be able to speak to animals for a short duration of time. You should try to have a stockpile of these whenever you find them.
