How to Solve Lightning Temple Battery Puzzle in Zelda TotK

The following video by RespawnFirst will guide you through the process of solving the battery puzzle in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. The video is followed by a text walkthrough in case you want text instructions.

Battery #1

The first battery is behind the Zonai terminal on the bottom floor. Go behind the terminal and to your right should be some moveable rocks. Use the Grab ability to pull these rocks out of the wall to clear a path. Head inside and use Riju’s Lightning Strike to power up the battery.

Battery #2

Go back to the Zonai Terminal and in one of the corners of the room, you should see a moveable rock in the ground. When you remove his rock, an uplift breeze is created, allowing you to Glide all the way up to 5F. There should be a soldier construct in this area and a gap behind it.

Climb through the gap to find a source of light, a small reflector, and a giant rock. Place the rock vertically under the light source and then put the reflector on top of the rock, facing toward the gap. The light should now be reflected out of the gap from where you can from. It should look something like this:

Now you need to go back outside and align the reflectors as shown in our video below:

When the outside reflectors are aligned, an entry point will open up on 3F. Glide into the opening to reach the Room of Offered Light where you need to take down a bunch of enemies before proceeding. Once you are done with the enemies, grab the metal plate and Fuse the hot air balloon on it.

Now attach the reflector on its front, facing toward the opposite end of the room from the main door. Attach heat to the hot air balloon to make it float from the middle of the light source. When it’s moving upward, the reflector will hit the lamp to unlock the battery. Hit the battery with Riju’s lightning ability to power it up.

Battery #3

Go back to 5F and relocate the reflector in front of the light source. Next, proceed to the opposite side, clear the sand, and push the pillar to the far end of its rails.

Continue along the path to the right and push the pillar on this side into the light source, causing the top room to activate. Utilize the updraft (and possibly some climbing) to ascend to the recently activated switch on 6F and unlock the door by standing on it.

Step inside and take a peek over the edge to check out a long chamber filled with blazing fire. You gotta glide down there carefully without getting roasted. Just a heads up, Riju won’t be able to tag along in this place.

Once you reach the bottom, you’ll find yourself in a closed-off chamber on the 2nd floor. To crack open the door, just stand on the switch like a boss. Oh, and brace yourself for a showdown with two Constructs in the room. Take ’em out, and then zap that battery to power up. Only one more left to deal with!

Battery #4

Head back to 1F and catch a ride on the wind up to 4F. Once there, you’ll need to gracefully glide over to a small opening in the north corner of the room. For your convenience, the rough coordinates are -4513, -3585, 0063. Follow the path that leads you to two spinning discs with openings in them. Pass through the discs, and at the end of the corridor, remove the bricks to reveal a light source.

Now, turn around and use Recall on the spinning discs until the gaps align perfectly. Stop the Recall, and witness the radiant light pouring into the central chamber. Walk through the newly opened door and glide over to 3F. Ascend the stairs and patiently await the opening of the next door, which will unveil a room filled with cunning traps.

Grab the sandstone block from the side of the room and wedge it between the crushers. Make a quick dash through and step on the switch, and Riju will join you.

Now, the switch you need is on the right, but you can’t reach it just yet. But no worries, for now, grab the sandstone from the walkway across from you and slide it beneath the spiked ceiling crusher to prevent it from flattening you. Carefully walk underneath it and proceed to the Room of Light and Shade, where you’ll encounter a fight with the Construct. Remember, Riju won’t be able to accompany you this time.

In the center of the room, there’s a light source emitting from below. Behind it, you’ll notice a hole in the ground that you can descend into. Inside the spinning chamber, you’ll find two Stakes and a mirror, which you can lift out of the sand using the trusty Ultrahand.

Place the mirror on the light source and grab one of the Stakes with Ultrahand. Wait until a green light is revealed, then pin the stake into the wall to halt the room from spinning. This will expose the light to the source and unlock the door to the Switch.

Climb out of the room and return to the previous area to power up the final battery. Once done, make your way back to the Room of Ascension and interact with the Zonai terminal to activate the lift leading up to 7F, where the boss fight awaits.

That’s all you need to know to solve the battery puzzle in the Lightning Temple. I highly recommend watching the videos instead of reading the text walkthrough. Anyways, solve it however you like and if you need more help, let me know in the comments below.
