Saving your game is crucial in any game with survival mechanics. It is especially important in games like Returnal but to increase its survival feel, developers have decided to remove this feature from Returnal. Yes, you can not save your game in Returnal but as they say, where there is will there is a way. In this guide, I will explain everything you need to know about a workaround that helps you save your game in Returnal and walkaway.
Returnal: How to Save Your Game in Returnal
While a saving feature isn’t present in the game, you still do something to protect your perfect runs in case you need to walk away for a bit or take a break. To save your progress in Returnal you need to put your console in Sleep Mode.
When you are ready to come back, you can turn the PS5 back on and out of the sleep mode to start off right where you began. Putting PS5 in sleep mode is not only useful in saving your perfect run in Returnal but also useful if you want to charge your controller and dont want to play with a cable.
Simply put the console in Sleep Mode when playing Returnal and come back when you’re ready. Once you complete the run, you can then keep that run’s progress safe.
You can out the PS5 to Sleep Mode by pressing the PS Button and accessing the menu. You can then come back, press the same button to awake the console. This feature comes in handy when playing Returnal as it allows you to save your progress.
