In Baldur’s Gate 3 every choice matters, and every character you meet could be a friend or foe. One such enigmatic character is Lae’zel, a Githyanki warrior with a commanding presence and a will of steel. This guide will take you on a journey to recruit this formidable warrior into your ranks. So, buckle up, adventurers, as we delve into the intricacies of finding, recruiting, and understanding Lae’zel.
Lae’zel is a Githyanki, a race known for their martial prowess and psionic abilities. She is a fierce warrior, unyielding in her pursuit of her mission. Her imperious nature may seem off-putting at first, but beneath the stern exterior lies a steadfast ally who can be a valuable addition to your team.
Where To Find Lae’zel In Baldur’s Gate 3
Lae’zel first meets you during the prologue when you’re on the Nautiloid. However, she will leave your party only to be later discovered on the Ravaged Beach. To find Lae’zel’s location, explore the Cathedral Ruins and you will soon find her being held captive by two Tieflings.
They’ve caged her, mistaking her for a yellow toad. As you get closer, you’ll engage in a telepathic dialogue with Lae’zel. She’ll demand her freedom, and your reaction to this situation will determine the course of events. Most of your choices will lead to a conflict with the Tieflings. They’re not too powerful, but if you’re playing an Oath of the Ancients Paladin, fighting these Tieflings will cause you to become an Oathbreaker.
Once Lae’zel is free, she’ll demand that you turn on the Tieflings. You’ll be faced with a simple choice: Attack the Tieflings or Attack Lae’zel. Your companions will have varying reactions to this decision. For instance, Astarion will approve of your decision to attack the Tieflings, while Shadowheart will disapprove.
Attack The Tieflings Or Lae’zel?
If you choose to free Lae’zel and fight the Tieflings, Lae’zel will stay near the dead Tieflings. You can then talk to her again to get another shot at recruiting her, or you can just leave her be. However, going through all this work only to avoid recruiting Lae’zel seems counterproductive.
If you’re a Paladin and want to avoid a fight with Damays and Nymessa, you can approach them and pick the following option: “[Paladin] [Deception 10] Your quarry looks dangerous, but I’ve handled worse. Leave it to me, get to safety.” This approach allows you to maintain your oath and avoid unnecessary bloodshed. As the two Tieflings leave, you can ask them more questions, such as the location of their camp.
Once you’ve navigated the initial encounter and made your choice, you can decide how to proceed with Lae’zel. You can choose to recruit Lae’zel immediately, go your separate ways, or invite her to wait at your camp where you can speak to her again about recruitment, and even a romantic relationship.
