Monster Hunter Stories 2: How to Play Multiplayer and Co-Op

The multiplayer mode is unlocked when you interact with the Quest Board in Monster Hunter Stories 2. The quest boards are available in every town in the game. Early on in the game, there are only a few quests available

But as you progress in the game, you will unlock Expedition quests at the notice board. To complete these quests you need to collect 4 eggs and kill the final boss.

Once the multiplayer is unlocked, chose “Multiplayer” at the quest board. You can choose to play Online with someone or select Local to play with a friend who is in person and has their own copy of Monster Hunter Stories 2 and a Nintendo Switch.

Select Co-op quests to play together or Vs. to play against another player. You can also create a room. Keep in mind that you don’t have to play Co-op quests with someone else; they can be completed solo.
