Parry is one the strongest combat maneuver in D&D: Dark Alliance. It does not only prevent damage but also opens up attack opportunities. Executing it consistently, however, is easier said than done. In this guide, we have explained all there is to know about how to parry in Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance.
Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance Parry Tips
The way parrying works in D&D: Dark Alliance is essentially the same as other action RPGs out there. To land a successful parry, simply press the block button at the exact time an attack is about to land. L1/LB is the block button on consoles and Tab on PC.
While it all comes to timing and perfecting it in other games, Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance makes parrying a little easier, thanks to combat indicators. Here is what should be kept in mind:
- White – Opponent is not attacking
- Yellow – Opponent is about to attack
- Red – Perfect time to block and parry the incoming attack
Remember that it is entirely possible to forgo these indicators once parrying becomes a sort of muscle memory. Moreover, it can be a little hard to keep track of all the different things happening on the screen at the same time. As mentioned earlier, parrying is something that requires a lot of practice but is very rewarding.
This is specifically true when going against tougher opponents who cannot be killed by spamming the attack button repeatedly. There are enemies like Goblins, Verbeeg, Cultists, etc. that are prime examples of it. Lastly, do note that parrying is just the beginning. There are a lot of different combat techniques that can be used to gain an advantage over enemies. To learn more about those tips, be sure to check the link.
