While the game has the option to speed things up, it can still feel pretty sluggish. Luckily, there’s a way to speed things up even more but it requires changing the game files – a little. In this guide, we’ve detailed all there’s to know about how to increase the game speed in Loop Hero.
Loop Hero – Increase Game Speed
Before we begin, do note that the method requires tweaking the game files. To begin, open up the Steam Library, right-click, and open Properties. In the new menu that opens up, click on the Local Files tab and then on Browse. From the new window that opens up, select the variables.ini file. This is the file that needs to be edited.
However, it’s a good idea to make a backup of the file somewhere in case things don’t go as planned. The entire thing is pretty straightforward. Even if something goes wrong, verifying the game files should get the job done. To get started, open up the variables.ini using Notepad++ and find the line named “game_speed=60”.
By default, the speed is set to 60. It’s personal preference as to what the speed should be but, in our experience, anywhere between 120 to 350 seems like the sweet spot. Once that’s done, save the file and start the game.
If done correctly, the game speed should be increased. Another thing that players need to do is to check the option that says, “Automatically Pause After Battle” in the Options Menu. Obviously, it goes without saying but players who are comfortable with the default game speed should stick to it – there isn’t any need to change things.
