Continuously being on the move is probably the best defense in a zombie apocalypse. There is no better way to roam around the harsh world of Project Zomboid, be it in search of a base, supplies, or whatever, than in a car. Luckily, there are a lot of abandoned cars that can be found scattered all around the game world. But the player cannot just sit in them and roam around – these cars must be hotwired before use. In this Project Zomboid guide, we have detailed all there is to know about how to easily hotwire a car.
Hotwire Car in Project Zomboid
In order to hotwire a car in Project Zomboid, simply locate an abandoned car – it should not be hard to do.
Stand right next to the car and press V to open up a menu. The option to hotwire the car should be somewhere in the menu. One thing to note here is that hotwiring a car successfully requires 2 things i.e., Level 1 Electrical and Level 2 Mechanic. Without these skills, it is impossible to hotwire a vehicle.
There are a few other things to keep note of. The player should always ensure that the vehicle is in a good shape before trying to hotwire it. Moreover, it is a good idea to see there are no lurking zombies nearby.
The reason for this is because hotwiring may or may not be successful in the initial attempt. And unsuccessful hotwires create noise that can draw unwanted attention. Due to this, it is a good idea to carry a weapon while trying to do so. The weapon will also help the player break the window without harming his/her character.
