How to Get Rebreather in Sons of the Forest (Rebreather Location)

Sons of the Forest lets you explore the island’s mysteries, but you’ll need a rebreather to explore the island’s depths and uncover its secrets if that’s the case.

While finding the rebreather may seem daunting, it’s one of the easier items to obtain on the island, especially compared to the shovel and rope gun locations. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find the rebreather location in Sons of the Forest.

Sons of the Forest Rebreather Location

Go to the cave shown in the image above to find the Rebreather.

When you reach the location shown in the image above, you’ll be able to see the cave in front of you. Use a spear or an axe to break open the cave’s entrance and head inside. You’ll need a light source, such as a lighter or a flashlight, to navigate the cave.

Keep going until you reach the area where many mutants hang out. You can fight them off or run past them to avoid confrontation. Turn left from the mutants and keep going straight. If you have a pistol it revolver, you can kill them all, but it isn’t worth wasting bullets.

You will notice lifejackets on the ground as you progress through the cave, but don’t stop there. Keep moving forward and take a right when you can. Follow the path until you get to a big chamber with another light source.

To find the Rebreather, walk around the water’s edge to the light source. Upon jumping into the water, the Rebreather will equip automatically, and the on-screen Oxygen meter will appear to display the amount of oxygen left in the tank.

You can put on the rebreather, aka scuba gear, and swim your way out to get out of the cave.

In order to use the Rebreather, Oxygen tanks are required, and crafting them isn’t an option. So players have to rely on the limited supply of Oxygen tanks scattered around. Therefore, it is advisable to use the Rebreather responsibly to conserve Oxygen.
