Aetherium Crystals in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War zombies are needed to upgrade virtually everything i.e. perks, field upgrades, classes, ammo mods. Upgrading these things will greatly improve their effectiveness, allowing you to survive higher-rounds easily and will also help during the Easter Egg hunt. In this Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War zombies guide, we’ve detailed the fastest way of getting a lot of Aetherium Crystals and XP in Die Maschine.

How to Get Aetherium Crystals Fast in Cold War Zombies

Before we get to the actual strategy of farming Aetherium Crystals, let’s talk about how to get them in the first place since the game doesn’t do a very good job at it. Aetherium Crystals in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War zombies are tied to a couple of things.

The first way is killing the Megaton boss who has a chance to drop an Aetherium Crystal. These are pretty tough to kill, especially during the early rounds. The other way of getting Aetherium Crystals in Die Maschine is completing rounds and exfiltrating. You get an Aetherium Crystal fo at the 10th round and an additional one after every 5 rounds till the 30th round. After the 30th round, you start getting 2 Aetherium Crystals after every 5 rounds.

How to Farm Aetherium Crystals in Die Maschine Fast

One strategy of farming Aetherium Crystals easily is exfiltrating after the 10th round. However, this isn’t what we recommend since the early rounds can be a little slow.

The best way to get a lot of Aetherium Crystals and even survive high-rounds is staying in the spawn without opening the pink door and just running around in the area. As for loadout, this is what we recommend:

1. Ray Gun – Tier 3 if Possible
2. Base Wonder Weapon
3. Tomahawk
4. Stim
5. Chopper Gunner for Bosses

You’ll also need to constantly keep an eye on armor. Remember that you can always leave one zombie alive, replenish armor, and return to the farming area – the open space outside the spawn. Also, do note that at higher-rounds, the Chopper Gunner is essentially a jail-free card. You can use it to get out of a tough situation and have a few seconds of respite after getting off it. We can’t stress enough how paramount it’s to have a Chopper Gunner in your backpocket at all times.

Once you’re done, feel free to exfiltrate and enjoy a lot of XP and Aetherium Crystals. Now all that remains is to unlock different things and upgrade them. While not confirmed, we also think that completing the Easter Egg hunt will also reward some Aetherium Crystals.

Raw Aetherium Crystals and Flawless Aetherium Crystals

You’ll most likely get Raw Aetherium Crystals as the game progresses but there are also Flawless Aetherium Crystals. As of right now, we don’t know how they work but we’ll make sure to update the guide with more info.
