Hey there, fellow wizards! Are you frustrated by the slow pace of exploring the sprawling countryside surrounding Hogwarts in ‘Hogwarts Legacy’? Don’t worry; we’ve all been there. But the good news is, you don’t have to rely on your two feet when exploring the massive open world of Hogwarts Legacy. Your trusty broomstick is just around the corner and waiting for you to unlock flying. No more wandering on foot; it’s time to soar through the skies and take in the breathtaking views of the wizarding world. But how do you get your hands on the flying broom? Don’t fret; we’ve got you covered. In this article, we’ll guide you on getting your broom in ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ and upgrading it for a more magical experience.
How to Unlock Broom in Hogwarts Legacy
On your second in-game day at Hogwarts, when you are back in the common room and complete Jackdaw’s Rest quest, you’ll have to visit the Flying Class Lawn in the Bell Tower Wing. Here, you will get your first flying lesson from Madam Kogawa, and it will be your first time exploring the castle from above.
Once the class is done, head to Spintwitch’s Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade to grab a broomstick. It’s gonna cost you 600 gold, but if you don’t have enough cash, remember you can sell gear or loot containers, camps, and vaults. And the best part? Once you’ve got a broom, you’ll unlock the Flight Test quest with Imelda Reyes at the Quidditch Pitch. Crush that test, and you can upgrade your broom for a smoother flying experience.
How to Fly the Broom
Alright, wizards, it’s time to get your flying skills on point! Flying on a broomstick may take a bit of practice, but it’s easy once you get the hang of it. On consoles, tilt the Left Stick to fly horizontally and the Right Stick to ascend and descend or move the camera.
To fly faster, hit R2 or RT for a lean forward and a slight speed boost or L2 or LT for a full-on speed boost that drains your flight meter. But don’t worry; you can upgrade that meter by completing broom time trials around the map. And here’s a pro tip: if you stick close to the ground, you can fly faster without draining the meter on a broomstick without upgrades. Upgrading your broom will give you a higher flight meter and faster travel speed.
And for a hands-free experience, just hit the Left Stick to toggle the automatic broom speed. When you’re ready to dismount, fly low and hold Circle or B.
How to Upgrade Broom
With Broom upgrades, you can take your flying game to the next level in Hogwarts Legacy. The upgrade process starts with a series of side quests involving Albie Weekes, the owner of Spintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade.
Weekes will ask you to test broom upgrades by participating in a series of time trials crafted by Imelda Reyes, who can be found on the Quidditch pitch. Whether you’re a seasoned Quidditch player or just starting, these Time Trials are a thrilling way to put your broom skills to the test and unlock the full potential of your flying mount in Hogwarts Legacy.
Once you’ve completed the trials, head back to Albie. He’ll take some time to work on the next upgrade and then contact you when it’s ready. Return to the shop, take another time trial, and keep repeating this process.
Getting the broom in Hogwarts Legacy is an important step towards unlocking the full potential of your wizarding journey. That’s all you need to know about getting the broom and flying. But before you go, check out our guide on changing the time of day.
