When playing Returnal you will die over and over again. It is one of the toughest video games released on PlayStation to date, and you verify this by checking Twitter where you will find a ton of “gaming journalists” crying for an easy mode. Anyways, to git gud at Returnal you need the best weapons, gear, and an extra life.
In this guide, I will explain everything you need to know on how to get an extra life in Returnal.
Returnal: How to Get Extra Life
There are a ton of annoying bosses like Ixion and Nemesis, not to mention, the Red Shield enemies will often put you in your place. However, if you get an extra life it makes matters much easier for you.
To get an extra life in Returnal you need to get a memento from one of the houses inside the boimes. You can find it in later biomes but for this guide, we will focus on the first biome, Overgrown Ruins.
Inside the first, you will across a ranch-style house but you won’t be able to access it without the key. The key is somewhere else in the biome and does take some digging around. Once you have the key, go to the house play the sequence. You will then find yourself outside the house where you can find a collectible that looks like an Astronaut (in Overgrown Ruins).
Pick up the momento to get a second life in Returnal. It doesn’t transfer to your next run as far as I can tell, so you better save the pick up before facing a tough boss.
