Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: How to Equip Runes

You can equip runes on all weapons and armor that have an empty rune slot. You can check if the equipment has an empty slot from the inventory menu. Moreover, you can switch runes from one weapon or armor to another. You can actually add more runes to the equipment by performing an Enhancement at Gunnar the Blacksmith.

Upgrade and enhancements allow you to increase protection and damage. Enhancements are quality and rarity improvements you can perform on your weapons and armor. You can only perform these at the Blacksmith. Keep in mind that enhancements will never boost a weapon/armor’s base stats but will only add level upgrades, additional rune slots, and allow you to customize appearances.

You can ingots to perform enhancements to weapons and armor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. There are four tiers of quality in AC Valhalla; Fine, Superior, Flawless, and Mythical.

  1. Seems I can add one rune to my slot but the other one stays empty like I can’t add anything to it… Weapon and armor with 2 slots each and I can only put one in each one.

  2. I also have this problem on equipment I have upgraded to have 2 rune-slots. I don’t seem to be able to move the cursor to the left-hand side of the screen to select the other empty rune-slot….

  3. Had this problem too, are you using the menu navigation as “focus” in the interface options (option menu, interface, 5th option)? If you switch it to cursor you can select the other slot but it’s like using a mouse and kind of irritating. I’m going to only have it set like that occasionally for equipping but focus feels better.

Doesn’t seem possible without switching that setting.
