Starfield is the latest Bethesda RPG that has lived up to expectations to some extent. However, not everything about the game is perfect. The game doesn’t support DLSS or XESS upscaling which is disappointing and can be fixed by a small mod, so check our Starfield guide on How to Enable DLSS and XESS. The option to change FOV is also not present in the game which is very unusual for a AAA title. Fortunately, there is an easy workaround for it. In this Starfield guide, I will help players with how to change FOV (Field Of View) in-game.
Starfield FOV Fix
Having the ability to change FOV is important for a lot of players and a restricted FOV breaks immersion. Interstingly, there is no console command or a cheat that allows Starfield players to change the Field Of View in-game. However, PC players are also a very crafty bunch and often find workarounds to such problems. The following is the workaround that allows Starfield players to change FOV to their liking.
To change Streifled FOV On PC, go to Documents/MyGames/Starfield. Create a new text file and name it StarfieldCustom.ini. After creating the files, open it and add the following:
[Camera]
fFPWorldFOV=100.0000
fTPWorldFOV=100.0000
Once you have added the above lines, save the file. Launch Starfield and players will find that the FOV has improved significantly. If you don’t want to increase the FOV to 100, you can tinker with its values between 80 and 100. With some trial and error, you’ll find the right FOV in Starfield.
That is all for our Starfield FOV fix. Also, see our Starfield fixes for DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG Error and GPU Doesn’t Meet Minimal Specs Error. If you are facing errors and issues with other PC games or your PC, then also see our hub for commonly occurring PC errors and their fixes.
