Among the world bosses in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, we have the Stone Talus. It is found in the Tanagar Canyon near the edge of the crater. While world bosses like the Hinox are easy to beat, Stone Talus is one of the most frustrating bosses you will encounter in Zelda TotK. It is immune to all of your attacks and can easily one-shot you even if you have 5-6 HP hears (here is how you can increase max HP).

In this guide, I will break down the steps you need to take to find its weak point and deal as much damage as possible to finally beat the Stone Talus in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

How to Beat Stone Talus in Zelda TotK

To find the Stone Talus you need to visit the very edge of the Tanagar Canyon. Here’s its exact location:

Stone Talus, as the name suggests is fully made of stones. I tried attacking with a Stone Fused Spear but that didn’t work for me which means it won’t work for you. After messing around with it for a while, I finally figured out how to deal damage to Stone Talus. To deal damage to Stone Talus you need to attack the Opal/Amber formation on its back.

The problem is that it doesn’t show its back at all so most of your time will be spent trying to get behind it. But there is a simple trick to this; you have to run through the gap between its right arm and leg to get behind it. If you execute this move successfully, the Stone Talus will try to swing at you but will fall to the ground instead, exposing the Opal/Amber despite on its back.

Now, you can use arrows to deal damage to Stone Talus’ weak point but I highly recommend that you wait until you unlock the Sage of Lightning ability. The Sage of Lightning ability is part of the main story mission that takes place in the Gerudo Desert and ends in the Lighting Temple.

With the Sage of Lightning ability, you can summon lightning strikes on the Stone Talus’ weak point. This is the best way to deal with a lot of damage in a short period of time.

Important

Grab as many arrows as you can before going into this boss fight. Without arrows, there is hardly any logical way to do damage to the Stone Talus. I managed to beat the Stone Talus with 15 arrows but I had 30 in my inventory.
