Long time fans of the Crash Bandicoot will remember how challenging the original games were. Although Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is pretty tough to beat but if you really want to go old school, you can turn on the Retro mode. In this quick guide, we will tell you how to activate the Retro Mode in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.

How to Activate Retro Mode in Crash 4

The Retro Mode is pretty tough to beat as it limits your ability to respawn. You won’t be able to respawn more than a few times. Retro Mode gives you a set number of lives so when you are out of lives you won’t be able to attempt the level and the game will reload. Don’t worry though, only the level will reload and not the entire game from scratch. Still, this makes the completing levels harder especially if you wish to complete challenges as well.

The Retro Mode will remain active until you switch to Modern mode. You can switch to the Retro Mode by going to the main menu from the level map. Click the options button on PS4 or the Menu button on Xbox One to open the main menu and select the Retro Mode. You can switch between Modern and Retro Modes whenever you feel like. That’s all we have for you on this topic which brings us to the end of our how to activate Retro Mode in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.
