Half-Life VR Game Code Leaked Via The Lab Update

Steam has just announced the Lab which is a VR game that lets you have different experiences. The game has been stripped down and code of a Half-Life VR game been found underneath. The game is codenamed shooter and aspects of previous Half-Life games has been spotted in the code. The code is only for what seems like a single level of the game so we could hear more in the upcoming weeks.

The code has made its way to the latest update of Lab and it seems like these are very early experiments of what could be a premium VR game. Most of this is not speculation as there is code online for the game but it has not been confirmed to be a Half-Life VR game. You can check out the code below:

Hints like a crank bridge puzzle have us believe that this could very well be a Half-Life VR game. Valve has not commented on the matter or made an announcement so it will be interesting to see what the company has to say regarding the matter.

CombineScanners, CombineStriders, CombineSoldiers, Gunships, gman, AR2 from Half-Life 2, a pistol as well as a usable Gun Range. You’ll also find a complete chapter-based campaign within the code. Try to look for Puzzle, Doorway, Pillar, Window, etc. inside the code.

Taking place in a holoroom, players will start the game with a pistol from a Pistol Dispenser. From there, you traverse to a variety of set-pieces. Something important that caught our eye is City 17 simulation which has its separate set-pieces and gameplay mechanics, obviously coupled with Half-Life enemies and mechanics.

You’ll also be able to complete a variety of puzzles throughout the game. Now while this is all found in the code, there’s a likely possibility that all of this is just a part of a Half-Life update to the Lab.

It will be interesting to see what this game is going to be about and what fans think about it. We have been waiting for Half-Life 3 for a long time now, so fans might not be thrilled to get a VR title instead.
