Guardians Of The Galaxy Beginner’s Guide: Tips And Tricks To Get Started

Guardians Of The Galaxy Tips

Guardians of the Galaxy is the newly released Marvel game and before you get started there are a couple of things that you should keep in mind. In this Guardians Of The Galaxy beginner’s guide, we are going to go over some tips and tricks that should make the game a bit easier for you.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Tips And Tricks

The following are some tips and tricks that you should keep in mind when playing Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Exploration Is Rewarding

We recommend exploring the different areas around you when playing Guardians Of The Galaxy. Doing so is rewarding as you will find components and advanced components, the materials that you are going to need in order to unlock new moves and abilities for Star-Lord. Exploring different parts of a level can reward you with hidden costumes.

Use Star-Lord’s Abilities

You have the abilities of different characters in the game and you might at times forget that you can use Star-Lord’s abilities as well. This is something that you should not forget. You can head into the pause menu and upgrade his abilities in order to make the most of the character.

Icons Left Of Enemy HP Indicate Weaknesses

There are little icons next to the HP bar of the enemies that show you their weaknesses. This is not going to be very helpful early on but when you unlock some abilities and attacks then this is something that you should take advantage of. Note that these icons do change in the middle of a battle and you should take a look at them.

If an enemy has a shield then the icon will indicate that the shield needs to be broken. Once the shield is down, the icon is going to tell which what the enemy’s weakness is so that you can pack a real punch and take out enemies faster.

Use Huddles Often

Huddles can be used to increase Star-Lord’s damage as well as the rest of the team. That is why we recommend using these often and whenever possible. Huddles can recharge pretty quickly, so you should use one when you have the option rather than holding onto it in case you need it later on.

Use Star-Lord’s Scanner

One of Star-Lord’s abilities is his scanner. This highlights people, points of interest, and friendly characters around you. People are highlighted in Purple, points of interest are shown as Teal and Red is everything that you need not worry about. You can use the ability when you are lost, stuck, or just bored. You can upgrade this ability in order for it to highlight components that you will need to upgrade abilities.

Melee Attacks Can Be Very Useful At Times

Star-Lord fires his guns which might make melee attacks less intuitive. While melee attacks do not deal a lot of damage most of the time, there are situations in which melee attacks can be very useful and can actually do a lot of damage. For example, once an enemy is frozen, you can do a melee attack in order to deal high damage. If the enemy is on a ledge then you can use a melee attack to push the enemy off.

Buy The Components Localizer

As mentioned before, finding components and advanced components is very important as these resources are used to upgrade the abilities of your character. We recommend buying the Components Localizer perk. Rocket can craft it at a Workbench. This will allow you to find the components that you might miss otherwise.

Play In Performance Mode On Consoles

There is a quality mode and a performance mode on consoles. While quality mode looks better, it locks you to 30 FPS. In order to get a smoother, more fluid experience we recommend sticking with performance mode and taking advantage of 60 FPS.

These are some of the tips and tricks that we recommend you keep in mind when playing Guardians Of The Galaxy. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out our abilities guide. For more guides related to the game check out our Guardians Of The Galaxy guides hub.
