Does God of War: Ragnarok Offer a New Game Plus Mode?

The much-anticipated God of War: Ragnarok is finally here! The newest addition to the God of War family was launched on November 9, 2022. God of War: Ragnarok introduces whole new realms (Svartalfheim, Vanaheim, Asgard), new combat mechanics (Grapple, Combo Finishers, Pre-Fall Attacks), and much more.

The Ragnarok has the longest 20 hours plus story mode in the series and is filled with new things to discover. Even if you’re a veteran who’s played for hours, you might still be confused about whether your progress will transfer into a New Game Plus that you can use in your next quest via trials of Fimbulwinter. In this guide, all your doubts and confusion about the New Game Plus in God of War: Ragnarok will dissipate.

As of right now, God of War: Ragnarok does not offer a New Game Plus mode. You cannot transfer any of your progress, items, armor, etc., from one playthrough to another. Therefore, if you want to play the game again, you have to start from scratch with a new save file. This is a bummer for those who want to try out different gameplay styles or build their characters differently in their second playthroughs. However, it’s still early days, and we might see a New Game Plus mode come out in future updates or DLCs.

Are you looking forward to having a NG+ mode in God of War: Ragnarok. Be sure to let us know in the comments down below!
