Comet Lake-S series processors are around the corner and the Intel Z490 chipset is going to support the K-series of these CPUs. Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Motherboards have been leaked and they support PCIe 4.0.
Until now, only the latest generation of AMD Ryzen CPUs supported PCIe 4.0 but it seems that Intel is planning on releasing this feature for its upcoming CPUs as well. Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Motherboards that have leaked include AORUS Xtreme WaterForce, AORUS Xtreme, AORUS Master, AORUS Elite, AORUS Pro, and AORUS Elite. You can check out the motherboards below:
Gigabyte Z490 Aorus PCIe 4.0 Motherboards
VideoCardz has confirmed that these upcoming motherboards are going to offer PCIe 4.0. The following is the site’s quote from Gigabyte:
- 2x PCIE 4.0 Slot (Reinforced PCIe 4.0 x16 or x8/x8 with lower impedance)
- M.2 PCIe 4.0 Slot (M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot with lower impedance)
- PCIE 4.0 Turbo B-Clock (External clock generator for PCIe 4.0 overclocking)
- PCIE 4.0 Switches (Switch PCIe 4.0 x16 into PCIe x8/x8)
- PCIe 4.0 Re-driver (Boost & strengthen PCIe 4.0 signals to longer lengths)
- 3.3x Slot Signal Stability
- 4x Lower Low Signal Loss PCB
GIGABYTE Z490 AORUS Xtreme
This is supposed to be the top of the line motherboard that Gigabyte is going to offer. There is plenty of armor on the motherboard and RGB lighting. The black look is pretty neat. This motherboard is also going to have a water block model which is going to be called GIGABYTE Z490 AORUS Xtreme WF.
Features of the motherboard include Daisy Chain + Shielded Memory Routing, Memory Single DIMM 32GB Support, Extreme Power Design with 90A Power Stage, Tantalum Capacitor Array, Nanocarbon Fins-Array, Thermal Guard 2 and Intel 2.5G.
Z490 AORUS Master
The design of this motherboard is similar to the Xtreme but this one should be cheaper.
Features of the motherboard include Daisy Chain + Shielded Memory Routing, Memory Single DIMM 32GB Support, Extreme Power Design with 90A Power Stage, Tantalum Capacitor Array, Thermal Guard 2 and Intel 2.5G.
Z490I AORUS Ultra
This is a mean looking ITX motherboard for people that are interested in building smaller PCs.
The motherboard features Daisy Chain + Shielded Memory Routing, Memory Single DIMM 32GB Support, Extreme Power Design with 90A Power Stage, Direct Power Design, Tantalum Capacitor Array and Intel 2.5G.
Here we have the VISION G for creators, that comes in white. This is ideal if you are interested in building a white themed PC build.
The motherboard supports Memory Single DIMM 32GB Support, Direct Power Design and Intel 2.5G.
We also talked about the whole Comet Lake-S lineup and how the die is pretty much the same as Coffee Lake. If you are interested in learning more about these upcoming CPUs then you can check out the leaked benchmarks that we spotted for the i9, i7 and even i5 SKUs.
Let us know what you think about these motherboards and whether or not you are interested in getting one.
