Gears Tactics is out now and there are different classes that you can play with. Each class is different and has specialist weapons that it can use in battles. In this Gears Tactics class guide, we are going to go over the different classes in the game and how you can unlock them.

Specific classes can use specific weapons and abilities. You should have one character from each class available for missions. Once you learn about these abilities and classes you can pick several characters that belong to the same class and strategize accordingly.

The following is what you need to know about the different classes in Gears Tactics and how you can unlock them in the game:


This is Gabe’s main class. Supports excel at healing and providing other bonuses to allies. They can heal a single target and even groups of Gears. A strong support is something that you are going to need in order to progress the game. The support class is unlocked in Act 1 Chapter 4 in the campaign of Gears Tactics.


The sniper class and damage from a distance and the accuracy penalty on long-range targets is reduced as well. Snipers are great at dealing high damage cortical hits. This is the class that you need if you need to take out a beefy brute in the game. This class is unlocked after you meet Mikayla during Act 1 Chapter 4.


The heavy class is great at taking down swarms. It has huge miniguns which are great for suppressing swarms. You can pair this with the support class to deal some serious damage. You can unlock the class after you rescue the first two gears in Act 1 Chapter 1.


The scout is great at close quarters combat. This class can get behind enemy lines with sneaky attacks and cloaking abilities. They can be difficult to use but they are worth checking out. You can unlock the scout class after you rescue the first two gears in Act 1 Chapter 1.


This is Sid and Cole’s class. Vanguards are what you would call solo tanks. They can heal themselves at the end of a turn and heal from the damage that they deal. This class is ideal for pushing enemies back. This class is unlocked from the start.
