Fire Emblem: Three Houses Garreg Mach Monastery Guide – Sunday Activities, Weekly Instructions, Exploration

After a long wait Fire Emblem: Three House is available. It features a ton of content and activities for you to perform. Fire Emblem: Three Houses Garreg Mach Monastery guide will explain various activities and their importance in the game. Players should understand that Garreg Mach Monastery is one of the most important sites in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Garreg Mach Monastery is located at the heart of Fodlan.

For those who don’t know, Fodlan is a continent in Three Houses. It connects all of the major nations in the new Fire Emblem game.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses Garreg Mach Monastery

The first this our guide will discuss is the nature and purpose of Garred Mach Monastery. As the name suggests, it is a religious site that operates as the HQ for the Church of Seiros. It plays the same role for the Officer’s Academy, a location where children from all three major Fire Emblem nations train. Moreover, the Garreg Mach Monastery hosts an elite order of Knights.

While there are a ton of classes in the game, one of the only playable characters is Byleth. You can play a male or female Byleth and choose the best class.  Your main character is allowed to roam freely in the Mach Monastery. You can freely explore the location and can fast travel to it later on after visiting it for the time.

Byleth will be offered to teach at the Garreg Mach Monastery at the beginning of the game. Fire Emblem: Three Houses has three houses you can train/teach – The Black Eagles, The Blue Lions, and The Golden Deer. Choose the one you find most interesting.

Keep in mind that whichever house you choose is going to be your main house for battles in the future. Choosing the right house is the most crucial decision you’ll make in Three Houses.

The house you choose will initially comprise of 8 units including the Young Lord, the Lord who will rule the nation.

Most of the starting section of the game is set in the Garreg Mach Monastery. Here you will teach young students the art of combat, and do side quests while training your students.

Sundays Activities

There are multiple options available to you on Sundays. You can explore, do side quests, and more. Keep in mind that you can only select a single option at the time. Each option you choose comes with benefits and caveats. But overall, all of the Sundays activities at the Garreg Mach Monastery are fun.

  • Seminars — If you love to teach you can do so on Sundays as well. You and your trainees can attend Seminars on Sundays. These are hosted by a teacher (including Byleth) who shows off his skills
  • Explore — If no other activity interests you, explore the monastery
  • Rest — You can take a break and just rest for the day
  • Battle — If you are not the resting kind, participate in a low-tier battle to show and hon your skills

Seminar Hosts

Like we mentioned, Byleth and another teacher can host a seminar together for the students. You can invite a teacher to discuss and show his skills to your trainees. Keep in mind that while it might help with their knowledge, it can bring down their motivation levels for the next day. It is a no-brainer that students don’t like to learn on Sundays. So use this activity wisely when the motivation to learn is high.

Weekly Instructions

It should be clear by now that you get one day off per week. You also get missions that last around a month. Of course, you get several options to choose from, how you want to spend your time during your day-off.

At the end of each month, you can review your battle map. During your time at the Mach Monastery is spent training young students. Training students is fun but often times the activity becomes repetitive. The good news is that you can auto-train students to enhance their skills. While this method is convenient, it affects skills. It’ll be up to the AI to decide which skills are trained. You’ll have no control over it.

On the other hand, if you decide to painstakingly train your students manually, you will have complete control over your students and their skills. You will be able to focus on individual students and raise a better battle team.

The best way is to boost your bonds with students by offering them special foods, help them master certain skills, and give them group tasks to complete.

There are multiple factors that decide how much time it takes for a student to master a skill. Each student has its own weaknesses and strengths. The best tip is to focus on the skill they are most interested in.
