Kratos does not have a lot of health or rage when you first start off the game. You can increase your health bar by finding Idunn Apples that are inside locked Nornir chests. In this God of War: Ragnarok guide, we cover all the Nornir chests locations so you can get all the Idunn Apples and max out your health.
All Idunn Apple Locations In God Of War: Ragnarok
The following are the locations of all the Idunn Apples in God of War: Ragnarok sorted by the different realms that you explore:
Idunn Apples In Midgard
The following are all the Idunn Apples that you can find in Midgard:
Raider Hideout
You can find an Idunn Apple in the Raider Hideout but beware that you will be ambushed by raiders here. Take care of them and you will find a Nornir chest. To unlock it you need to light three braziers. The first one can be found on the left side of the chest after your clear the area with the rune chain ability using Freya or Atreus and the Blades of Chaos. You can also use explosives from the “device”.
The second one can be found in the crack in the wall on the right side of the chest. Use the explosives to clear the obstacles and then light the brazier. The last one can be found in the cave in front of you as you come down the stairs. Use the chain link ability and the explosives to light this on fire as well.
Idunn Apples In Vanaheim
The following are all the Idunn Apples that you can find in Vanaheim:
Goddess Falls
You can find the chest on a central platform. The braziers that you need to light up are in the mountains around it. You will need to use the chain ability with your blades in order to light them all on fire.
Eastern Barri Woods
You can find the chest inside a ruined building.
To unlock the chest you need to rotate three posts to match their symbols to those on the chest. The first one is towards the left as you make your way up the stars. The second one is on the left side of the chest. To get to the last one you need to turn left up the stairs opposite the chest and then run to the end. You will see a domed building in front of you. The last post you need to turn is under the dome.
The Crater
The next one can be found in The Plains, in The Crater area. To get this Nornir chest you will need to complete the Scent of Survival favor.
The chest is near a small pond. One of the bells that you need to hit is obstructed so you need to climb the platform behind the chest and then clear it with the Blades of Chaos.
After that, you can come back down and hit the three bells to unlock it. You will need to be quick as this is time sensitive.
Jungle
You cannot access the Jungle during the day. You will need to progress the game to the point where you can alternate between day and night. You can also check out our guide on how you can get to The Jungle.
The chest is in the center of the area and is pretty hard to miss. You will need to match the symbols around you to the ones on the chest. The first one is on the right side of the chest on the level above you. The second one is on the ruined building behind you and the last one is opposite the second one. To get to the last one you need to use the chain link ability of Freya or Atreus and pair it with the Blades of Chaos to clear the obstacle.
Idunn Apples In Svartalfheim
The following are all the Idunn Apples that you can find in Svartalfheim:
Aurvangar Wetlands
When you first come to this area, you will find the Nornir chest on the right past the geyser. You can freeze the water using the Leviathan axe in order to access it. You need to break the ruins in order to unlock the chest.
As this is pretty early on the solution is pretty straightforward. One of the runes you need to break is directly behind the chest in the distance. The second one is on the right side of the chest while the last one is on top of the platform next to the chest.
Dragon Beach
The next apple that you can find is in Dragon Beach. You will come to this area as part of the Spirit of Rebellion sidequest given to you by Durlin.
Once you are at the location, you will find the Nornir chest next to a geyser. Freeze the geyser in order to reveal the rune behind it and then break it with your axe. The next rune that you need to break is towards the right behind the dragon statue. The final one can be found behind the geyser near where your boat is docked.
Alberich Island
The next apple is found on Alberich Island. You will see the chest on the right as you dock your boat. Ring the three bells in order to unlock it.
Myrkr Tunnels
The next one can be found in the Myrkr Tunnels. You will visit this location as part of the story so you might have already got this one.
One of the braziers that you need to light is on the right, behind some crates in the alley in front of the Nornir chest. The second one is right in front of the chest. The last one is on the right of the chest and is a bit tricky to light up. You need to use the runic chain ability of Freya or Atreus and pair it with the Blades of Chaos in order to light it.
Applecore
Once you pass under the bridge, you can then go left and swing to the next platform and then climb up on the platform to the right. You can then open the big door. Use your spear to get to the upper section where you will find the Nornir chest. Now you need to break three statues in order to unlock the chest.
Use your spear to shoot at the statues and break them. The most tricky of the three is towards the right of the chest in the distance behind the water. The second one is towards the left of the chest in plain sight. The last one is further left and is behind obstacles that you can clear by using explosives.
Idunn Apples In Alfheim
The following are all the Idunn Apples that you can find in Alfheim:
The Below
One of the apples can be found in The Below. You will come here as part of the story.
The chest is located opposite vines that you can cut through next to a gate. Cut through the vines first.
Now take the path that you just unlocked. Get into the building and then open the door from the inside. This will give you access to the three bells that you need to hit. Hit the one inside the building first then make your way down to hit the other one. The last one is behind the gate at the bottom.
The Strond
Once you pass through the small gap, you can go left and find the chest below you. You will need to light three braziers in order to unlock it. Instead of heading down to the chest, take the path on your right and head up. Look down to the left and you will see the brazier.
Backtrack and come back to the chest and you will see the second brazier behind you opposite the chest. Take the path leading behind the chest and look down to the left to find the final brazier.
The Strond #2
There is another apple that you can find in The Strond.
You will need to destroy three statues using your spear at the same time in order to unlock the chest. Two are close by and hard to miss. The third one is towards the left side of the chest. Head onto the broken bridge and then look right. The statue is behind the waterfall. Detonate all three at the same time to unlock the chest.
