F1 22 Ego Dumper Crash Fix Guide

Even in 2026, F1 2022 is facing the same issues as it did back when it came out. One of the most common issues most players face is the dumper crash error in F1 2022. It doesn’t let you run your game as it crashes either at launch of after you start racing for a bit. So how do you fix this problem? There are multiple things you can try to fix F1 2022 crashing on PC but the best solution is to delete a couple of problematic files from the game’s installation folder.

Before deleting the files, try this quick check list first:

  • Verify game files
  • Update drivers
  • Lower graphics settings

Step 1: Delete the F1 22 Config/Save Folder

This resets graphics and hardware settings without losing too much progress (you may need to reconfigure controls/graphics).

  • Go to: C:\Users\[YourUsername]\Documents\My Games\F1 22
  • Delete the entire “F1 22” folder (or at least the hardwaresettings subfolder).
  • Launch the game—it will regenerate the files with default settings.

Step 2: Delete nvngx_dlss.dll

Go to whereever you have installed F1 22 on your PC. It should be in one of your drives where you must access the F1 22 Folder. Inside the folder scroll down to find a file named nvngx_dlss.dll. Delete nvngx_dlss.dll and empty your recycle bin as well to fully get rid of both nvngx_dlss.dll and the hardwaresettings subfolder we deleted the first step.

Now launch F1 22 and in-game, switch Anti-Aliasing from DLSS to TAA or AMD FX. Disable Ray Tracing if enabled. This should fix the DLSS issue that causes Ego Dumper crash in F1 22.

Alternate Ego Dumper Crash Fix

If the aforementioned Ego Dumper crash fix doesn’t work for you then you need to try something a bit more advanced. You must download a new nvngx_dlss.dll and replace it with the one in the F1 22 installation folder.
