Similar to SoulsBorne games, Elden Ring has a number of NPC questlines that are easy to miss. In addition to loot, these questlines help the player dive deeper into the lives of these NPCs and the stories are generally incredible. One such questline that appears near the Bridge of Sacrifices is related to Irina. In this Elden Ring guide, we have detailed all there is to know about completing Irina’s questline.
Elden Ring Irina’s Quest
To begin Irina’s questline, you will need to find her sitting on a rock past the heavily-guarded Bridge of Sacrifice. This bridge connects south-eastern Limgrave to the Weeping Peninsula. You will find her at the start of the main road in the eastern part of the Weeping Peninsula. Upon finding her, you must exhaust her dialogue to understand her questline and receive Irina’s Letter for her father, Edgar.
Delivering the Letter
The quest then leads you to Castle Morne in the south. It is recommended to move clockwise around the courtyard to evade most enemies, leading to a ladder that takes you to Edgar. After finding him in the north-eastern upper ramparts of Castle Morne, deliver the letter. Despite reading the letter, Edgar refuses to leave his post, as he is responsible for protecting the Grafted Blade Greatsword.
Grafted Blade Greatsword
The next step is to retrieve the Grafted Blade Greatsword. This involves backtracking to a specific area in the castle ramparts, where a path leads to a Site of Grace called Behind the Castle. From there, navigate behind the castle until you reach Leonine Misbegotten.
After defeating Leonine Misbegotten and securing the sword, return to Edgar. He allows you to keep the sword. Now simply return to Irina only to find her dead with Edgar driven mad by grief. The quest ends with Edgar appearing as an invader “Edgar the Revenger” at the Revenger’s Shack in Western Liurnia.
There is one thing that needs to be kept in mind. If the players decide to kill Irina themselves before handing the letter, Edgar will be at Irina’s corpse and will become hostile, thus, blocking access to his questline. And no, there is no way of saving Irina in the game – her fate is inevitable.
