There are quite a lot of Greatshields in Elden Ring. And not even one of them comes close to the Fingerprint Stone Shield due to the insane amount of defense that it provides. There is one little problem, however. Acquiring it is incredibly tough, especially during the early game. In this Elden Ring guide, we have detailed all there is to know about getting the Fingerprint Stone Shield.
Elden Ring Fingerprint Stone Shield
In order to unlock the Fingerprint Stone Shield, travel to the Leyndell, Royal Capital. From the Avenue Balcony SoG, look for a well that the player can jump into. This will take the player to the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds. This entire area is a maze. The player needs to explore the area until the Cathedral of the Forsaken is reached – we have also linked a short video below showing the entire path.
Once there, the player will need to defeat Mohg, the Omen. It is an incredibly tough boss that can be a pain at a lower character level. If possible, we highly recommend using a summon/friend to defeat him. Once defeated, attack the altar behind the boss arena to reveal a hidden path. The next area is a jumping puzzle that is quite tough to traverse. At the end of this jumping puzzle lies the Fingerprint Stone Shield. Also, make sure not to jump all the way to the bottom of the area, otherwise, the item will be missed.
