Elden Ring was named game of the year for 2022, and it has seen massive success with more than 16 million copies sold, which is a record for FromSoftware. While we know that the studio is working on Elden Ring DLC, it seems that FromSoftware is working on another unannounced project which could be another Souls-like title.
FromSoftware Developing Another Souls-Like Game?
We already know that FromSoftware is working on the Elden Ring DLC, and it is also working on Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. According to producer Kennet Chan’s LinkedIn profile, he is currently working on a new unannounced title, and he has been working on it since January 2022. Which is a few weeks before the release of Elden Ring. Since the Elden Ring DLC and Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon have both been announced, it would seem that this is a new game and could be yet another Souls-like title.
As of right now, we do not know what this game is. We do know that Kennet Chan has worked on big projects such as Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3. This could be a new game, a sequel to Elden Ring, or it might even be the Bloodborne Remake that fans have been asking for so long.
As for the timeline, you really never know with FromSoftware. But if I were to make an educated guess, I would say that this game is not going to be announced anytime soon. We might hear something about it towards the end of the year at an event such as The Game Awards. It is safe to assume that it is not coming out this year and might not even release in 2024 if development started in January 2022.
Since there is nothing confirmed at the moment, take this information with a grain of salt.
Let us know what you think about this unannounced project that Elden Ring developer FromSoftware is working on and what you want this to be.
