Dr Disrespect Doubts Riot’s FPS Project A Will Be Unique Enough

Dr Disrespect is a very talented and entertaining Twitch streamer and you can rest assured that when he says something about an upcoming title, people listen. Dr Disrespect recently commented on Riot’s upcoming FPS game called Project A. He mentioned that he is not sure whether this game is going to be unique enough.

Project A is currently in development and is going to be released sometime in the future. More details regarding the game are going to be revealed in 2020. During a stream, the two time had to say  the following about the upcoming game:

I’m sure because it’s Riot Games and obviously they’re tackling some of the technical stuff early on, which is exactly what you’ve got to do. Like, there’s no denying that the game is probably going to be really awesome and built for esports competitive – just like every other game they make.

Riot Games has a lot of money and they know how to make an eSports worthy game. LoL is a perfect example of just that. With games like Fortnite, PUBG and Overwatch it is going to be hard for an upcoming game to gain traction.

Apex Legends is one of the games that recently came out and got a lot of attention but one of the factors was that the game was free-to-play. Destiny 2 has also got plenty of new players since the year 1 content became free.

With all these games already available and more around the corner, it is hard to see how Project A is going to differentiate itself from the competition and Dr Disrespect doubts that it will be able to do that. The following is what he had to say regarding the matter:

I think the only thing, while we’re critiquing it… I don’t know. I just know it’s going to be good. It’s going to be quality, but is it unique enough? Different enough to really make an impact? I don’t know.

From what we have heard and seen so far, Project A looks similar to Overwatch. The game is still in development and a lot is yet to be revealed so we could be wrong in assuming so. In other news regarding Dr Disrespect, he did mention that he would be interested in moving to Mixer if he got a deal similar to what Ninja got.
