Diablo 4 Season 2 (Season of Blood) update 1.2 went live as scheduled, but players who logged in could not access the new season or its content. Players are unable to make a new seasonal character due to a delay in the season launch time.
Diablo’s official Twitter account waited until the last second to provide an update to the community and mentioned that the release of the season would be delayed by a few hours due to complications. The official Twitter account mentioned the following:
We’ve encountered some complications and will be delaying Season of Blood’s start time a few hours to remedy these issues.
We’ll share updates as soon as we have them. We appreciate your patience.
I myself was in line for the launch of the new season and, after downloading the patch, was surprised to see that there was no queue, but that was quickly taken away from me once I realized that there was something wrong since there was no seasonal cinematic.
Battle.Net client also mentioned:
We have encountered some technical issues with the Season of Blood release and will be delaying the start time. We are actively working to resolve this and will provide updates as they are available. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
PC players are still able to launch the game, but it seems that console players, especially on PS5, cannot even launch the game due to a version mismatch.
