Midwinter Blight is the new holiday event in Diablo 4 that goes live on December 12th, 2023, and runs until January 2nd, 2024. The event offers plenty of cosmetic items for players to unlock including 5 unique backpieces, one for each class. There also are 8 weapon skins and a mount skin up for grabs. How To Start The Midwinter Blight Event In Diablo 4
Once the Midwinter Blight event is active in D4, you can start it by heading over to Kyovashad where you will see a Midwinter marker. You will need to talk to the NPC to get started with the event. This is the NPC for the event so you will be interacting with him a fair bit.
Materials To Farm
The Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight limited-time event features 3 currencies that you need to farm; Blighted Fragments, Lost Heirlooms and Red-Cloaked Trophy. These three currencies can be exchanged for Midwinter Proof, which can be exchanged for cosmetics and more as detailed below.
- Blighted Fragments – Obtained by defeating Blightfiends.
- Lost Heirlooms – Obtained by defeating Frigid Husks.
- Red-Cloaked Trophy – Obtained by defeating the Red-Cloaked Horror boss.
Midwinter Blight Event Rewards
The Midwinter Blight event in Diablo 4 features 14 different cosmetics that players can unlock. These include 5 unique backpieces, one for each class. The event also has 8 different weapon skins and a mount trophy.
The different cosmetic items will cost:
|50x Midwinter Proof
|30x Midwinter Proof
|20x Midwinter Proof
Gileon’s Brew Elixir
Other than the cosmetic items in the game, the event also features Gileon’s Brew Elixir, which is a new Elixir that you can craft. This Elixir buffs XP earned by 15% as well as Max Life and Lucky Hit Chance by 15% as well. Gileon’s Brew Elixir can be found in event caches or can be purchased from Gileon.
Developers have confirmed that this new elixir is not limited to the event and if you have it then it can be used outside of the event as well.
Shard of Dawn Offensive Aspect
Shard of Dawn is a new Offensive Aspect which is a part of the D4 Midwinter Blight event. It buffs your attack speed and movement speed for 12 seconds when activated. You can buy it from Gileon for 1x Midwinter Proof.
The developers have confirmed that this aspect will remain available even once the event is over. So it is worth picking up.
The Red-Cloaked Horror
The Red-Cloaked Horror is the boss for the D4 Midwinter Blight event. He has a chance to spawn when you complete the mastery for the Blighted Revelry event. Defeat the boss and you will unlock the Red-Cloaked Trophy and acquire the new “Frigid Reveler” title.
