Diablo 4: Abattoir Of Zir Tips And Tricks Guide

Abattoir of Zir is the new pinnacle dungeon in Diablo 4 and it is challenging. Enemies have much higher health and it increases as you increase the tier of the dungeon. In total, there are 25 tiers of the activity, and tier 1 is harder than tier 100 nightmare dungeons. In this Diablo 4 guide, I go over tips and tricks that will help you complete the Abattoir of Zir pinnacle dungeon.

Tips And Tricks For Completing Abattoir Or Zir In Diablo 4

Abattoir of Zir is a limited-time activity, so be sure to take part in it before it ends on January 23, 2024. You will be able to use the new glyph outside of the pinnacle activity as well. You can check out our guide on how you can start Abattoir of Zir if you have not done so already.

Since the launch of the pinnacle dungeon, Blizzard has made some changes. Incoming damage has been reduced by 20%, Glyph XP earned has been increased. The difficulty for tier 10 and lower has been reduced as well. With that said, the following are some tips and tricks that you should keep in mind when playing Abattoir of Zir in Diablo 4.

Focus On Damage

While being tanky can help you survive the Abattoir of Zir activity has a time limit and you need to defeat all enemies and the bosses in 10 minutes. This is why we recommend focusing on damage rather than your survivability. If you are able to kill enemies fast enough you do not have to worry about taking damage.

Craft Elixirs And Incense

Elixirs and Incense can give you a buff for short periods. Since the activity itself only lasts 10 minutes and you need to complete it in this period, the time limitation on the Elixirs and Incense is not going to matter all that much. You will need the resources to keep crafting them. We can recommend Elixirs that buff your defense, damage, and resistances. Furthermore, you should craft Incense that increases your dodge chance, gives you thorns, or buffs your stats.

Max Your Resistances

70 is the soft cap for your resistances and while there are ways of increasing it even further, this is what you should have as the minimum or as close to 70 as possible. Hitting this soft cap will give you a better survival chance and allow you to do better in the activity in general. Since you do not know what the dungeon modifiers are until the activity has started, you should be ready for anything with all resistances maxed.

Your Build Should Be Up For It

Since Abattoir of Zir is a pinnacle end-game dungeon that packs a punch and is rather challenging to complete, you will need the right build to stand a chance. The following are some of the best builds that we can recommend for this activity:

  • HotA Barbarian
  • Immortal Heart Barbarian
  • Upheaval Barbarian
  • Pulverize Druid
  • Werewolf Tornado Druid
  • Bone Spear Necromancer
  • Infinimist Necromancer
  • Omnistorm Necromancer
  • Pentadot Necromancer
  • Lucky Rogue 2.0
  • Lucky Toxic Shock Rogue
  • Twisting Blades Rogue
  • Arc Lash Sorcerer
  • Ball Lightning Sorcerer

Solo Vs Team Play

You can play the activity as a team but you will need to weigh the pros and cons. While you might have a better chance at surviving as a team and there is strength in numbers, if any one of you dies then you will need to start over. You also need to think about the scaling of the dungeon that takes place when there are more people in the party. You might want to go in solo before trying the activity with friends.

Use The New Glyph

Once you have completed Abattoir of Zir for the first time, you will get the new Tears of Blood Glyph. This is tailored towards the new activity and while you can use it outside the activity as well, you should use it when running the dungeon since it gives you increased damage output and buffs your nodes.

These are the tips and tricks that you should keep in mind when playing Abattoir of Zir in Diablo 4. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out our guide on the best Uber Uniques in the game.
