Vexcalibur is a brand new Exotic Glaive in Destiny 2: Lightfall. To acquire it, you will need to complete a secret Exotic Mission called Avalon. It is a really fun mission that we recommend everyone to try out. In this Destiny 2: Lightfall guide, we have provided a complete walkthrough of everything you need to know about completing the new Exotic Mission, Avalon.

Unlocking the Exotic Quest

The first thing which you need is to actually acquire the Node.Overd.Avalon mission. To do it, you need to collect a total of 6 Vex Confluxes scattered around The Gulch in EDZ. You simply need to walk through these Vex Confluxes to collect them. To know exactly where you can find these Vex Confluxes, refer to this image provided below:

Thanks, Unimaximal

After collecting one, you will see an incomplete Simulated Cave Access Code on the left with a 30-second timer. Each time you collect another Vex Conflux, this timer will refresh. After you have collected all 6 of these, you will see a large Vex structure in the sky. Directly underneath this is a cave where you will actually play the Node.Overd.Avalon mission.

Entering the Vex Network

In order to enter the Vex Network, you will need to explore to maze for a switch that you can activate — it should be on one of the platforms above. After that is done, search for a small opening which will lead you to the Vex Network.

Variant Security Protocol

In the next area, you will need to enter the Access Codes. For these Access Codes, you will need to search the area for some holographic symbols in a straight line. There are only three symbols that can appear i.e., Triangle, Cube, and Diamond. These symbols basically tell you the order in which you need to destroy the structures forming around the central pillar.

For instance, if you see Cube, Triangle, and Cube, you will need to shoot Cube, Triangle, and Cube on the central pillar in this particular order. You will need to repeat this a few times until you are able to progress forward. Keep on doing it until you are come across two Wyverns — defeat them and push forward.

Corrupted Data Management

The path to the next area is fairly simple. In the next area, you will need to collect Motes and deposit them into the central structure. After that is done, you will need to jump into the pit to avoid the Deletion Protocol. Keep on doing it until you defeat the boss.

Defeat Brakion

To defeat Brakion, you will need to repeat the whole holographic symbol mechanic. Defeating the boss is fairly simple but remember that it does like to roam around the arena a lot. It is recommended to use Linear Fusion Rifles, Sniper Rifles, etc. to deal damae. You should also pay attention to Cyclops, Hydra, etc. as they can easily one-shot you.

After the boss phases, follow it to the next area, keep on dealing damage to defeat it. After killing Brakion, use ‘Draw’ near one of the pillars to receive the Vexcalibur.

Vexcalibur Exotic Perks

Vexcalibur is a Void-based Glaive which provides an Overshield when you block. Here is a quick rundown of its Exotic Perks:

  • Perpetual Loophole: Deal additional melee damage while protected by an overshield. Defeating targets with melee final blows while the overshield is active will refresh it.
  • M1R Distribution Matrix: Fires a spread. Equipped with a quick-draining shield. Blocking damage with your shield gradually bestows Void overshields to yourself and nearby allies.
