With the release of Season of the Witch in Destiny 2, Monte Carlo, a fan-favorite AR from D1, has received an Exotic Catalyst. And from the looks of it, it seems like the Exotic Catalyst was a direct result of community feedback. Once acquired, it basically lets you stack up Markov Chain to unleash a devastating attack with the bayonet which was previously for nothing but aesthetics. This guide will help you easily farm the Monte Carlo Catalyst in Destiny 2: Season of the Witch.

Destiny 2 Monte Carlo Catalyst

Needless to say, to acquire the Exotic Catalyst, you must have Monte Carlo available. Starting with Season of the Witch, you have a deterministic way of acquiring Monte Carlo.

To do so, you will need to complete the Timeline Reflection questline from Ikora in the Tower. This questline requires you to complete three missions from earlier expansion — Forsaken, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen. After that, you should be able to acquire Monte Carlo as a reward from Ikora Rey.

You can buy it from Xur but who knows when it will become available. It is much better to complete the Timeline Reflection since it is much quicker.

Unlocking the Catalyst

Like some other Exotic Catalysts, you will need to grind the Playlist Activities for a chance to get it. I have heard some people say that completing your unfinished Exotic Catalyst increases the chances of getting a new one but it is all RNG-based. It is much better to continue playing Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible instead of completing unfinished ones over at Shuro Chi.

Once you have it, your next objective is to complete it. To do so, you will need to defeat 700 enemies with Monte Carlo. Since the Thrall Hallway is no longer a thing, your next best bet is Altar of Sorrows, Blind Well, or Shuro Chi.

Monte Carlo Catalyst

Just like the community wanted, the Exotic Catalyst for Monte Carlo gives it Stochastic Vengeance. This basically lets you do a special bayonet attack after you have built up 5x Markov Chain stacks. And it does a decent amount of damage for a Primary Weapon. The best thing about it, however, is that it works with melee-enhancing Exotics such as Synthoceps, Warmgod Caress, Winter’s Guile, etc. And while it is by no means the most meta weapon in Destiny 2 right now, it surely is incredibly fun to use.

This is everything we have on how to unlock Monte Carlo Catalyst in Destiny 2: Season of the Witch. If there is anything else that you would like to add, be sure to let us know in the comments below!
