Destiny 2: Season of Plunder Community Event Guide — Captain’s Coins Farming, A Rising Tide Quest

Before the Season of the Plunder comes to a conclusion, Bungie is having a Community Event to help build the Eliksni Quarters in The Last City. As a Guardian, you’re required to donate Captain’s Coins that can be acquired by completing various activities. You’ll receive a bunch of different rewards for doing that. In this Destiny 2 guide, we’ve detailed everything there is to learn about the Community Event in the Season of Plunder.

To start, you need to interact with the Donation Chest located at The Tower. At this point, you’ll be asked to donate 1x Captain’s Coin to get started. These can be acquired by completing Lost Sectors, Ketchcrash, Expedition, King’s Fall raid, etc. Therefore, do any of these and donate your Captain’s Coins at the Donation Chest. After that’s done, you’ll need to wait until the Community Goal is met. However, feel free to continue donating additional Captain’s Coins to get a bunch of different rewards. As for the Community Goal:

  • Goal 1 — 40,000,000 Captain’s Coins
  • Goal 2 — 80,000,000 Captain’s Coins
  • Goal 3 — 140,000,000 Captain’s Coins
  • Goal 4 — 200,000,000 Captain’s Coins
  • Goal 5 — 260,000,000 Captain’s Coins
  • Goal 6 — 320,000,000 Captain’s Coins
  • Goal 7 — 400,000,000 Captain’s Coins

In all honesty, such ridiculous goals are rarely met in Destiny 2. You can expect Bungie to nerf them a little by the next week if the community isn’t close enough to the end-goal.

In total, you need to donate 2,400 Captain’s Coins in order to get every single reward that the Community Event has to offer. These rewards include:

  • Parts of a Whole (Emblem)
  • 5x Enhancement Cores
  • 3x Upgrade Module
  • 1x Eliksni Quarter Gift Box that can contain a Deepsight Resonance gun, Bright Dust, etc.
  • 2x Enhancement Prisms
  • 1x Ascendant Shard
  • Swashbuckler Shell (Ghost Shell)

Captain’s Coins Farming Tips

There are a couple of different methods that you can use to farm a lot of Captain’s Coins throughout the Community Event. These are detailed below:

  1. Quickly running Lost Sectors such as Skydock IV, Orrey, etc. to get 14x CCs per run. There is absolutely no need to do them at a higher difficulty.
  2. To take it to the next step, you can start farming Expeditions that will grant 50x CCs per run.
  3. Lastly, if you’ve got some teammates, you can repeatedly farm the Daughters’ encounters in King’s Fall raid to get 100x CCs per encounter.

Personally, I’d recommend doing the Daughters’ farm if you’ve got some teammates. Lost Sectors are incredibly easier to run but these can get tedious really fast. Your call at the end of the day!
