Destiny 2 Traveler’s Chosen Exotic Sidearm Quest Guide

Traveler’s Chosen, your default “White” sidearm from the start of D2, is now an exotic. The exotic variant of the weapon obviously has a few unique perks, as befitting an exotic. In order to unlock the Traveler’s Chosen exotic sidearm, you need to complete the “Excavation” quest on different destinations. In this Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals guide, we’ve detailed everything you need to know about unlocking Traveler’s Chosen exotic sidearm.

Destiny 2 Traveler’s Chosen

Just like its common variant, Traveler’s Chosen is a Kinetic sidearm. It’s a 300RPM sidearm with 15 in the magazine, 80 aim assist, and 82 range. As for its perks, they include:

  • Gathering Light: Each final blow with this weapon grants a stack of Gathering Light (Guardian defeats add 3 stacks), to consume stacks, granting melee, grenade, and class ability energy based on the number of stacks.
  • Gift of the Traveler: Each stack of Gathering Light improves this weapon’s reload, handling, and target acquisition.

To start the “Excavation” questline, speak to Commander Zavala in The Tower. The following is an entire rundown of the said questline:

Evacuation: Io After speaking to Commander Zavala, head over to Asher Mir on Io and tell him that Zavala has ordered him to evacuate the planet.
