Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals Prophecy Dungeon Guide – All Encounters, Best Builds, Defeat Kell Echo

The biggest highlight of the new Season of Arrivals in Destiny 2 is the Prophecy dungeon. It is a 3-man activity (no matchmaking) that requires you to be around 1040 to be able to complete somewhat easily. Similar to The Shattered Throne and Pit of Heresy, there are multiple encounters, puzzles, and bosses that you will need to get through to complete the dungeon. In this Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals Prophecy Dungeon guide, we will walk you through everything you need to know about starting and completing all the encounters and puzzles.

Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals Prophecy Dungeon

To unlock the dungeon, you will need to speak to Drifter in the Tower. After that, you will be able to start it from the Tower and teleport yourself to the Realm of the IX. Before we talk about mechanics and encounters, let us quickly talk about recommended weapons and subclasses:

  • Weapons: Mountaintop, Recluse, Anarchy, Izanagi’s Burden, Wendigo GL3, Eriana’s Vow, Malfeasance, Witherhoard
  • Subclasses: Well of Riddance, Ward of Dawn, Tether
  • Mods: Resistances, Any Taken Mods

All of this is subject to change and you should always go with something that you feel comfortable with. No need to be a meta slave if you do not want to do it. With that said, let us talk about each encounter individually:

Tunnels

For the first encounter, you will need to make your way through the tunnels after cleansing a few plates with either Dark or Light aura on them. To cleanse these plates, you need Dark Motes and Light Motes. Killing the Knight Echo while standing in light will cause it to drop Light Motes and doing the same while standing in shade/dark will cause it to drop Dark Motes.

You need to keep collecting a single type of motes (Light or Dark) until you see a large mote/orb in your hand and your weapon stowed away. When this happens, run to your corresponding plate (Light/Dark) and press the fire button to cleanse the plate.

While all of this is happening, you will have Taken Thralls chasing you down. Anyway, continue to cleanse the plates and you will keep on unlocking the next area until the first boss.

Heaven/Hell

This goal of this encounter is to defeat the Phalanx Echo – it is a large Taken enemy with a shield. Once again, deposit Light Motes and Dark Motes to cleanse plates in order to drop the boss’ shield in order to do DPS. You will have a small DPS window before the boss’ shield comes back up. If it does, repeat the process with the Motes again and kill the boss.

Once the Phalanx Echo is down, stand in the pink aura in the middle to get to the next area.

Wasteland

In this large area, you need to get on your Sparrow and find an area with 3x Taken Blights. While doing this, you will also come across invisible Minotaurs whom you do not necessarily need to kill but they hurt a lot. After clearing every area, you will see a message saying, “The way is open.” At this point, you need to find an opening with a pink aura in it and go to the next section.

Hexahedron

During this encounter, you need to find Toland and cleanse the plate that is right next to it. Cleansing the plates is done in the same manner as before – by depositing either Light Motes or Dark Motes. Continue to do this for every plate Toland is standing near to complete the encounter. While cleansing, make sure to clear all the enemies in the area, especially the yellow-bar snipers on the columns.

After you have cleansed every plate in the area, you will need to kill a couple of Taken Centurions to complete the encounter.

Wasteland

You will find yourself in the Wasteland once more. However, this time around, you will need to shoot an immune Teken Kell Echo until it teleports to another location. Once it does, find it again, and continue to repeat the process until you are in the next section.

Singularity

The goal of this beautiful encounter is to use your Sparrow and jumping skills in order to reach the platform at the very bottom while avoiding enemies and falling down. There is not much to say about this one – enjoy it! It is amazing!

Defeat Kell Echo Boss

At the start of this encounter, you will see 3x projections of Kell Echo with plates in front. You need to cleanse these plates to cause the projections to disappear. However, every time you cleanse a plate, a Devourer Ogre will spawn in the area alongside other enemies. These enemies are not hard to kill, especially with an Anarchy coupled with a Mountaintop.

Once all the plates have been cleansed, jump into the pink aura to start the DPS phase. It is an interesting boss phase. Not only you will need to chase the boss (like the Consecrated Mind from GoS) through the vertical arena, you will also need to keep an eye on your Dark Entropy stacks. It is a debuff which if allowed to reach 10x will insta-kill you.

In order to keep your Dark Entropy stacks low, you need to make sure to stay in close proximity of Kell Echo. Do not get too close or the boss will one-shot you. You will also need to utilize the cover in the room in order to avoid the Taken Barrier that Kell Echo throws at you. If it manages to hit you, it will teleport you all the way to the back of the arena, essentially killing you with Dark Entropy stacks.

If you are unable to kill the boss before it reaches the end of arena, you will need to stand in the pink aura to be teleported to the first section and cleanse the plates again to start another DPS phase. Continue to do this until the boss is dead and then find your loot.

There is also an emblem for players who will manage to do this Solo Flawless.

This is how you can complete all the encounters in the Prophecy dungeon in Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals. For more help on the game, you can check out our detailed Destiny 2 wiki guides.
