Season of Arrivals has added a brand new currency to Destiny 2, Exotic Ciphers. However, there seems to be some confusion as to how players can get them and what their intended use is. In this Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals guide, we will walk you through everything you need to know about how to farm Exotic Ciphers and what their uses are.

Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals Exotic Ciphers

First, let us talk about what you can use the Exotic Ciphers for. If you go to Master Rahool in the Tower or Kyra Tarn in the Farm, you will notice that they now have some Exotic Weapons from the previous seasons in their inventory.

It means that the players who missed out on weapon like Eriana’s Vow, Symmtery, Bastion, Devil’s Ruin, etc. can reacquire them in Season of Arrivals. Acquiring these weapons, however, will also require a lot of Glimmer, Planetary Materials, and Enhancement Prims.

Another thing you can use the Exotic Ciphers for is to obtain an additional Fated Engram (containing random Exotics) from Xur, Agent of the Nine whenever he appears.

As for obtaining the Exotic Ciphers, as of right now, there is only one method of getting a single Exotic Cipher in the game which is to reach Rank 55 on the Season Pass. Do not worry if you own the Free Pass, it will unlock for you too. Aside from it, we expect it to drop from different activities like the Gambit, Prophecy, Ordeal NFs, raids, and Trials of Osiris – kind of like any other Exotic.

This is, however, something we need to confirm ourselves. We will be sure to update the guide once we find out more. Since you can also use them to earn an additional Fated Engram from Xur, we also expect him to sell some from time to time. But again, this is something we will confirm after his visit this week so make sure to check back.

This is all we have got in our Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals Exotic Ciphers guide. For more help on the game, you can check out our detailed Destiny 2 wiki guides.
