Master version of the new Root of Nightmares raid is now available in Destiny 2: Lightfall. You need to complete all the Raid Challenges on the Master Mode if you wish to unlock the Dream Warrior title. Aside from it, an Adept Weapon is rewarded for completing the Weekly Challenge on Master. There is also a knockout system in place so you will have every Adept Weapon by the time you are done with all the challenges. In this guide, we have outlined all the changes that Bungie has made to the Master Mode of Root of Nightmares in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2: Root of Nightmares Master Changes

Similar to earlier Master raids, Bungie’s formula has not changed. The idea is to toss in a bunch of Champions and call it a day. There are also usual modifiers such as Chaff, Champions: Mob, and you are capped at 1820. Below, you can find a complete list of challenges in each encounter of the Root of Nightmares raid in Destiny 2: Lightfall.

Cataclysm

The first encounter is changed so little that most of you will not notice it while running for the first time. In the Master version, you will need to deal with additional Barrier Champions which you will not even notice 90 percent of the time since they are so easy to deal with in Season of Defiance. Even the Encounter Challenge is simple.

Scission

Once again, there is nothing that will break the second encounter on Master difficulty. There is only one change and that is an Unstoppable Champion on the second and third floor. Other than this, you will need to deal with Barrier Champions as normal. Since we have a lot of things to deal with Champions in the current meta, dealing with these should not be hard.

Macrocosm

Some of you might have guessed already but the four Colossi that spawn on each of the platforms in the Explicator fight are Barrier Champions. Other than that, the entire encounter plays the same. Centurions, Psions, etc. remain unchanged. Volatile, Radiance, Arbalest, sidearms, etc. are really effective for this.

Nezarec

To the surprise of none, the only change you will need to deal with during Nezarec is Barrier Champions instead of Colossi. However, not every Colossi is a Champion. The middle lane only has normal Colossi but the lanes on the left and right will keep on spawning Barrier Champions. That is pretty much all!
