Destiny 2 Opaque Cards

The gameplay loop of Destiny 2: Season of the Witch revolves around Opaque Cards. Once acquired, you can convert these Opaque Cards into Arcana which provides a number of benefits.

There are two types of Arcana in Destiny 2 i.e. Minor and Major — each one with a different effect. To give you an example, one of the Minor Arcana rewards you with a total of 20 Enhancement Cores. Major Arcana, on the other hand, have gameplay-related benefits such as a chance to drop Power Ammo when defeating enemies.

In order to get these Opaque Cards, you will need to just play the game as normal. Some of the activities using which you can get Opaque Cards in Destiny 2 are:

  • Savathun’s Spire
  • Altars of Summoning
  • Vanguard Ops
  • Crucible
  • Endgame Activities such as NFs, Dungeons, Raids

There might be some other ways to earn these Opaque Cards but these should suffice for now.

How to Convert Opaque Cards

In order to change your Opaque Cards into Arcana, you will need to head over to the H.E.L.M. and find the Lectern of Divination. This area becomes available after you complete the Toil and Trouble questline.

Once at the Lectern of Divination, you should be able to convert all your Opaque Cards into Minor Arcana or Major Arcana. You will most likely acquire Minor Arcana from your Opaque Cards since unlocking Major Arcana requires you to complete a small quest. After you have unlocked a Major Arcana, you should be able to slot it into your Deck of Whispers.

Deck of Whispers

Deck of Whispers in Destiny 2 is like your collection of Major Arcana. In order to use your Deck of Whispers, you will need to have at least five Major Arcana. After you have slotted in five different Major Arcana in your Deck of Whispers, you should be able to start a run of the Altars of Summoning or Savathun’s Spire — and one of the Major Arcana Cards will get picked automatically.

It can make up for some interesting gameplay loop, provided that everyone in the fireteam has slotted in their Major Arcana Cards in their Deck of Whispers.

To change your Major Arcana in the Deck of Whispers, head over to the Athenaeum. Once there, you should be able to mix and match the Major Arcana to create a strong Deck of Whispers.
