There is almost a week until Lightfall launches and there are a few things that you can do to prepare against the Witness. These things are not mandatory by all means but we definitely recommend doing these, especially if you are planning to do Day-1 raid. Things mentioned in the Destiny 2: Lightfall Prep Guide will ensure that you will have ample XP to unlock most of the Artifact Mods, have the best weapons, and required materials.

Bounty Prep.
Ideally, you will want to have a bunch of Weekly Bounties stored as these reward the most amount of XP. These are Weekly Bounties from these vendors:

  1. Hawthorne
  2. Variks
  3. Shaw Han
  4. Eris
  5. Ascendant Challenge / Blind Well
  6. Starhorse

After you are done with these Weekly Bounties, you will want to fill the rest of available slots with Daily Bounties. Planetary vendors, Playlist Bounties, Trials, etc. all work. Just ensure that you do not pick any Daily Bounties from the Seasonal Vendors such as Exo Frame, Starchart, Crown of Sorrow, etc. as these will be removed with the launch of Lightfall. Aside from that, try to leave 2 open slots in your Quest/Bounty tab to pick up any new questlines after Lightfall releases.

If you were unable to do Weekly Bounties, try to store a lot of Daily Bounties and you will be good. Lastly, when Lightfall releases, do not open these immediately and wait until you have your Seasonal Artifact, the Guiding Light bonus on your Ghost Shell and Shared Wisdom from someone in your fireteam. Also, feel free to use DestinyRecipes to see the amount of XP you have stored for Destiny 2: Season of Defiance.

Unlock Weapon Patterns
Patterns for every Seasonal Weapon will be unobtainable after the release of Lightfall. Therefore, we recommend picking up the ones you are missing. It is important to note that you do not actually need to craft these weapons — just getting the Pattern is okay. To make it even easier, Bungie has made it so that you are able to purchase these Weapon Patterns daily instead of weekly, provided that you have the Seasonal Currency to spend. If you are unable to purchase every available Pattern, we recommend picking these up — at the very least:

  1. IKELOS Submachine Gun from Season of the Seraph
  2. Bump in the Night from Season of the Haunted
  3. Explosive Personality from Season of the Risen
  4. Thoughtless from Season of the Risen

Materials
Planetary Materials will not be a thing in Lightfall but there are other resources that you will need to collect. These include Enhancement Cores, Enhancement Prisms, Ascendant Shards, Ascendant Alloys, Glimmer, Legendary Shards, Raid Banners, and Upgrade Modules. These come in very handy and you will need loads of these in Lightfall.

Complete Any Missing Triumphs
There are a lot of things that are being removed with the release of Lightfall. These include Triumphs, Seasonal Questlines, Weapons, Missions, etc. Therefore, if you did not have to chance to experience these activities, we recommend tying up any loose ends.

Leave those Exotics Engrams on the Ground
With the release of Lightfall, Bungie is removing Exotic Armor from Lost Sectors. This means you will no longer be able to deterministically (kind of) farm your desired Exotic Armor. And since new Exotic Armor will now drop from the open-world, we definitely recommend leaving your Exotic Engrams on the Ground so that they go to your Postmaster. And after Lightfall launches, you will be able to decrypt them for a chance to obtain a new Exotic Armor from these — a neat little trick if Bungie did not patch it.

Transfer your Gear/Weapons
If earlier expansions are any indication, servers will be a mess on the launch of Lightfall. And so, you will not be able to use Destiny Item Manager to transfer Gear/Weapons. This is why we recommend transferring your favorite weapons/armor into your inventories a couple of days before Lightfall.

This is everything we have got in our Destiny 2: Lightfall Prep. guide. For more tips and tricks, be sure to see our Destiny 2 wiki page.
