Koraxis’s Distress is a Strand-based rapid-fire Grenade Launcher (Heavy) that only drops from the new Root of Nightmares raid in Destiny 2. While not the most optimal DPS meta in the game right now, Grenade Launchers can be pretty good in some situations where you need burst DPS. The weapons from Root of Nightmares also come with Harmonic Resonance perk which lets them deal increased damage to Tormentors, Lucent Hive, and Guardians in their Supers. Moreover, if you equip multiple weapons from the Root of Nightmares raid, you will also get increased reload speed and handling for all the weapons. This guide will outline some of the best perks that you need to have on your Koraxis’s Distress in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 Koraxis’s Distress Godroll
Before we begin, it is important to mention that godrolls in Destiny 2 can be subjective. In the end, it all boils down to what you prefer. There is no point in running after high percentage damage perks unless you are into low-mans or solo content. Generally speaking, you would want to have a damage perk combined with a reload perk. With that said, here are some Godrolls for Koraxis’s Distress that you need to chase in the Root of Nightmares raid in Destiny 2:
PvE Godroll
There are not a whole lot of situations where you will prefer a Grenade Launcher as opposed to a Rocket Launcher. The weapon archetype certainly has its uses, especially after Rocket Launchers nerfed in the future. GLs are also pretty good whenever it comes to dealing burst DPS. Koraxis’s Distress also has some really good perk options which we have explained below:
Option #1
- Barrel: Quick Launch
- Grenades: Spike Grenades
- Column 1: Reconstruction
- Column 2: Full Court
Option #2
- Barrel: Quick Launch
- Grenades: Spike Grenades
- Column 1: Reconstruction
- Column 2: Surrounded
It is important to note that if you plan on using Surrounded, you must leave at least three enemies alive nearby to take advantage of its damage boost. Another decent option that we have not mentioned but can be good is Demolitionist with Frenzy. However, we do not know how good Demolitionist will be after the Starfire Protocol nerf.
PvP Godroll
When it comes to PvP, Grenade Launchers can be actually viable since the ammo economy is pretty decent. Since you can craft it, try to go for the following:
- Barrel: Linear Compensator
- Grenades: Proximity Grenades
- Column 1: Impulse Amplifier
- Column 2: Wellspring / Frenzy
Lastly, do note that Koraxis’s Distress also has an Adept version which only drops from completing one of the challenges in the Root of Nightmares raid on Master difficulty. Starting next season, you will be able to enhance the perks on the Adept Weapons which is why we recommend that you do not dismantle any good rolls.
