Preservation of Energy is the very first raid challenge for Crota’s End in Destiny 2. It is done during The Abyss encounter. The challenge requires you to rely on teamwork more than anything else. And while it is exponentially easier than the Feather Light, there is still some room for error if you are not coordinated enough. Your team-composition hardly matters in this challenge. As long as you are able to stay alive, keep up with your teammates, and have a general understanding of the layout, it should not be hard to complete. In this guide, we have detailed everything you need to know about completing Preservation of Energy raid challenge in Destiny 2: Crota’s End.

Destiny 2: Crota’s End Preservation of Energy

The challenge requires you to Enlighten a lantern only after you have Preserved the Chalice. It does not matter which lantern you Enlighten, all that you need to remember is to do only after you have Preserved the Chalice. One important thing that you need to know is that Preservation Nodes are always randomised.

Other than that, since there are only a few Preservation Nodes in the area, you will need to be pretty quick when running around The Abyss. However, contrary to what a lot of people believe, running Strand is not an absolute necessity. From our experience, running Arc for Amplified as well as Arc Souls can be beneficial.

We also recommend having an extra Enlightened in case you need it. It is definitely not as bad as Feather Light and you should be able to complete it in a few tries. Lastly, you can run Eager Edge to move around the area a little faster but be sure not to launch your teammates to Narnia.

Master Mode Tips

Aside from being under-leveled, there is hardly anything noticeable in the Master Mode. You will need to deal with a few Barrier Champions on the last plate. After completing the challenge on the Master Mode, you will get a random Adept Weapon. You also need to complete it to earn the Title for Crota’s End.
