Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Error Code Nightingale Fix, Black Screen, Error Code Weasel, Error Code Guitar, No Audio, Error Code Squirrel, Error Code Beaver Fix

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep PC version is facing errors like the crash at launch, black screen, Error Code Weasel, error code Nightingale, no audio, Error Code Beaver, stuttering, and more. Here I have compiled a list of Destiny 2 errors and issues along with their fixes and workarounds.

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Black Screen, Beaver Error And Fixes

Destiny 2 PC has shifted platforms from Battle.net to Steam. Not only that, but the game is also now free-to-play and since this move, Destiny 2 PC version is facing errors and issues like Low FPS, black screen, crash at launch, Error Code Beaver, error code Nightingale, no audio, and more.

The following are the errors that players are experiencing with the game along with their possible fixes and workarounds.

Crash Fix

One of the reasons why Destiny 2 is crashing is apparently because of players having more than 300 friends on Steam. As ridiculous as it sounds, you need to reduce your friends on Steam at least to 299 and the game will stop crashing.

Another reason for the game to crash is that Destiny 2 default resolution is higher than your display’s native resolution. Just set the proper resolution and the crash issue should be resolved.

Black Screen Fix

This is another issue that Destiny 2 players are facing. But, it isn’t a critical issue. If you are getting a black screen with audio in the background, it can be easily fixed.

Start the game and when the black screen appears, press “ALT + Enter” and the game will go into Windowed mode. Then go to video settings and set the proper resolution and you’ll be able to play in fullscreen.

In case you are getting a black screen without any audio then the issue might be your GPU driver. Update your GPU driver and the issue will be resolved.

Squirrel Error Fix

This Destiny 2 error pops up due to players having characters in their names that are incomprehensible. You just need to change your name on Steam and the issue will be resolved.

Error Code Weasel Fix

Destiny 2 error code Weasel is a connectivity issue. Either the server isn’t connecting or your anti-virus software or Windows Defender might be blocking the game from connecting.

For the anti-virus/Windows Defender issue, you just need to create an exception for Destiny 2’s install folder and also allow the game through your firewall. This will fix the Destiny 2 error code Weasel.

Game Not Launching, Crash At Launch Fix

Game not launching or crashing at startup is another issue with Destiny 2 PC version. Here a few things that might help you with the crash at launch issue with the game.

One reason could be that the game’s exe file is being detected as a trojan by your anti-virus software or Windows Defender. To fix this you either need to disable your anti-virus software or make an exception for Destiny 2’s exe file in your anti-virus.

If you are using WIndows 10 OS and are part of the Windows Insider program. Then the preview build might be the reason behind Destiny 2 crashing at startup. Just opt out of the Windows Insider Program and the issue should be resolved.

Some players are facing the error “api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing” while trying to launch the game on Windows 7. This is due to your OS not being up-to-date. Update your Windows 7 OS or install the update KB3080149 and this Destiny 2 error won’t bother you again.

If that isn’t the case and you are using third-party monitoring software like MSI Afterburner or GeForce Experience, then the culprit might be these third-party software. Just disable them and the game should launch.

If you have disabled MSI Afterburner and Destiny 2 persists on crashing at launch, then follow the instructions below.

  • Open RivaTuner Statistics Server(RTSS).
  • Click the Add button and navigate to the game’s folder.
  • Add Destiny 2’s exe under Application profile properties.
  • Set Application detection level to None for the game application.
  • Close RivaTuner Statistics Server.

Low FPS, Stuttering Fix

Destiny 2 is a well-optimized game but still, players are facing low FPS and stuttering issues. Here are a few things that might help you eliminate stuttering and boost performance.

Make sure there is no background process running that is using too much of your HDD or CPU. If there is then just end the process. Also, install the latest GPU drivers.

Start the game and disable in-game v.sync. Close the game and open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3d Settings > Program Settings > Select Destiny 2. Make the following changes.

Set “Power Management Mode” to “Prefer Maximum Performance”
Set“Texture Filtering- Quality” to “High Performance”.
Set Vertical Sync to “On”

This will eliminate stuttering and will possibly give you an FPS boost. However, if the performance issues continue to bother you then, follow the steps above but set Vertical Sync to “Fast”. Fast Sync allows the GPU to render as many frames as it can regardless of the display refresh rate.

But, it’ll only display as many frames as supported by your display. Meaning if the GPU is rendering 70 FPS and your display is 60 Hz then it’ll only display 60 FPS while the rest of the frames will be wasted.

No Audio Fix

Players are reporting that they aren’t getting audio while playing Destiny 2 PC. This is probably due to Windows Sonic For Headphones being enabled. Right-click on the audio icon on the bottom right of your Desktop. Disable Spatial sound if it’s set to “Windows Sonic for Headphones”. Start the game and you should be getting audio.

Error Code Guitar Fix

This is a ridiculous error as it occurs if the players aren’t picking up items off the ground in any activity. The only way to avoid or fix this error is to pick up items that drop during activities including the orbs.

Error Code Toad Fix

Error code Toad is another one of Destiny 2 errors that are stopping players from playing the game. Currently, there is no fix for this error but, there is one workaround. Delete the game and reinstall it. This will fix the Error code Toad.

Error Code Nightingale Fix

The Destiny 2 nightingale error is another one that is bothering players. This error is related to online connectivity. This can be temporarily fixed by using a VPN.

However, there is another workaround for this nightingale error but, it might not work for everyone. Open Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > click on Change adapter settings. Right-click your current connection > Properties > click on “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”.

Then click properties and check “Use the following DNS server address”. Enter “8.8.8.8” for “Preferred DNS address” and input ” 8.8.4.4″ for “Alternate DNS Server”. Apply these settings and Destiny 2 nightingale error will be fixed.
